7 European Destinations - A Wish List

My last semester of college has officially begun and there are only 23 short days left until boarding a plane in Memphis and the beginning of my almost 90 day study abroad adventure in Spain. Half of me prays they'll go by slowly so I can enjoy more days like today, spent at a coffee shop with a cappuchino and my favorite person. But the other half of me knows they'll fly by and I couldn't be more excited to start this adventure that I've been dreaming of for longer than I can remember.

I'll be going abroad with 18 other students from my University and we'll take excursions to Granada, Las Alpujarras, Málaga, Costa Del Sol, Córdoba, & Madrid. Spring Break will be spent with my mom and brother in Italy seeing Rome, Lake Como, and Milan. Every weekend will be a 3 day weekend and we are encouraged to travel while we have all of Europe at our fingertips.

Here are 7 more European destinations and "to-do & see"s I dream of checking off my wishlist by May.

Mylo Coffee

1. Barcelona, Spain

La Sagrada Familia Church

Sagrada Familia

Nova Icaria Beach

Nova Icaria Beach

Font Màgica de Montjuïc

(I wonder how far this fountain show blows the Bellagio's out of the water)

Font Magica

Las Ramblas Street

Las Ramblas Street

Modernist Park Guell

Park Guell

& of course, eat at an amazing restaurant

Uma is Trip Advisor's #1 restaurant in Barcelona. Tables are booked months in advance and it sure is pricey but, it can't hurt to dream, right?

Uma Restaurant

No, I don't know what that ^ is but it looks magical...

2. Seville, Spain

Seville Cathedral & the tomb of Christopher Columbus

Seville Cathedral

Reales Alcázares Palace

Reales Alcazares

See a Flamenco Show (or take a class) at Museo del Baile Flamenco

Flamenco

Dine at Vinería San Telmo, because Lonely Planet's description of the place DEFINITELY has me drooling

"San Telmo invented the rascacielo (skyscraper) tapa , an 'Empire State' of tomatoes, aubergine, goat's cheese and smoked salmon. If this and other creative nuggets such as foie gras with quail's eggs and lychees, or exquisitely cooked bricks of tuna, don’t make you drool with expectation then you’re probably dead."

San Telmo

3. Gibraltar, A British Territory

See the monkeys and view Africa from The Rock

then venture to the Upper Rock Nature Reserve to see the underground tunnels & St. Michael's Cave

Eat at a Pub

Lonely Planet and Trip Advisor reccomend The Clipper but there are so many, it's hard to nail down THE one to try

4. Tangier, Morocco

(ok so this one's not European but only a 30 minute ferry ride away)

Explore the markets and intricate architecture of the Medina

Get pampered at Serenity Day Spa

Eat at Populaire Saveur de Poisson

Authentic Moroccon food with no menu? Sold.

I'm not a huge fan of fish so we'll see if Populaire can change my mind

I would love to see the Sahara Desert by camel or fourwheeler & try sandboarding

5. Lisbon, Portugal

Praça do Comércio

Castelo de São Jorge

Barcrawl in the Bairro Alto district

Take a Ginja shot

Take a surf class in the Atlantic

6. Amsterdam, Netherlands

Anne Frank House

Vondelpark (admire the tulips)

Take pictures with the Miffy Statues

The Jordaan district

Sit on The Fault In Our Stars bench

7. Reykjavík, Iceland

This is by far the destination that is the farthest out of reach for this trip and I have only one reason for wanting to travel to Reykjavík...

The Blue Lagoon

But I'm sure I could make a weekend out of it with a town like this to explore...
